Getting a Card
Skaneateles Library has a lot to offer! With an ever changing collection of books, audiobooks, DVDs, magazines, newspapers and downloadable material, we have something for everyone. We’re also a member of the Onondaga County Library System (OCPL), which gives our patrons access to the collections of every library in the county.
Getting a Library Card
Anyone ages 5+ can obtain a library card using a photo ID and proof of address. Parents or guardians are asked to provide their ID to get a card for a child. Because a child’s legal guardian is responsible for all materials checked out on the child’s card, we’re not able to issue a card to a child if his or her guardian isn’t present (sorry, book-loving grandparents and neighbors!).
There are no residency requirements or out-of-town fees to get a card from our library, but if you don’t live, go to school or own property in the Skaneateles Central School District, other OCPL libraries may limit your access to their collections and services.
Account PIN
Your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is your library account password. It can be any four numbers. Just call or visit the library to reset your PIN.
